Folks,

I don't like post blatantly negative reviews, but in this case these people deserve it. I purchased a brand new LaserMax Uni-Green laser for a new FN 57 back in April. I mounted it on the gun and was initially pretty pleased with it on the first range trip. It really helped in full daylight. Seemed to work really well.

Upon the second range trip, I fired a few rounds and noticed that the laser turned off. Odd, I thought perhaps I accidentally bumped the switch. Nope, switch was still on. Could not make it turn on, so I tried a fresh battery. No go. So I decided to finish the mag and after the next shot, it came on. Stayed on for a few shots, then off. repeated every few shots.

So I emailed the (less than) fine people at LaserMax. After all, it was made in American and for the $300 cost, they certainly would stand behind it. They promptly answered my email and said to send it to them, which I did.

A few weeks later I get a package which I had to sign for. Inside, I find my original unit - not a replacement. No note or papers indicating what they found. So I figured, ok, I'll try it again. Same problem. They did nothing. Attempt to contact them but they will not return emails or calls. So I have no idea what gives.

I can only recommend that you stay far away from these people. They won't stand behind their products at all. May as well by some cheap Chinese crapola the way they their customers.

DO NOT BUY LASERMAX!!!

Re: LaserMax Uni-Green Review - STAY AWAY POS!!!!

Knowing how these work I can pretty much guess it wasn't installed properly. I have not only owned several of these and had them all function properly (the first one had the same 'issues' and turns out each time it was MY fault... not the devices) but I had one that had drifted slightly off zero after about 9yrs of use. Turns out the battery cap was installed wrong and caused this but non-the-less they re-zero'd it for me at NO charge and sent it back to me on their dime. I have nothing but the exact opposite feedback for the company and would recommend them to anyone. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Sorry to hear that man. I deployed with mine and it held up well except when it hit the 120s degrees. Just try moving up the chain of command. They're pretty alright in cs.... then again maybe it was because they knew I was military

Re: LaserMax Uni-Green Review - STAY AWAY POS!!!!

I had the same problem with a LASER-MAX RED laser i bought for a .45 Springfield XD 4" bbl and the same thing happened, it lasted about 10rds before it would start turning off and on inbetween rounds. I was shooting in an indoor range.

I wrote Laser-max a letter (listed the gun I was using it on) and said what was happening and sent the POS laser with the letter. <span style="text-decoration: underline">They sent me a brand new RED laser-max laser</span>. They did not send no letter/reason why the old laser crapped out. The first trip out with it (new laser sent) THE SAME THING HAPPENED. This one didnt last but 5rds.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Laser-max is JUNK, I agree.</span>For $100+ this laser is a joke.
I bought a laser for less than half that price and have yet to have problem.

I was very dissapointed with this product.
This was the RED one tho, dont see why the GREEN one would be any better and it sounds like its the same junk parts used.

Re: LaserMax Uni-Green Review - STAY AWAY POS!!!!

If it makes you feel any better (or worse), I had exactly the same issue with a Viridian X5 green laser unit that crapped out after one mag on my XD40. Viridian was helpful in sending a call tag and returning the 'repaired' laser, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I have the LaserMax on my AR15 pistol....so far, so good, but I haven't exactly shot a case of amoo through it yet.

Re: LaserMax Uni-Green Review - STAY AWAY POS!!!!

I've also had a bad experience with a LaserMax product and their customer service.

My only complaint is the POS spring they supply with it.

I had one on my P229 and after a couple hundred rounds the spring weakened and would not chamber rounds.

Talked to CS, they said they'd be happy to replace it, gave em my address and never heard a word back.

I said the hell to that, put my old spring back in, and haven't had a problem with it since.

So now it sits on my shelf collecting dust and I grit my teeth every time I see it.

Sorry to rain on anyone's parade out there..
