It's nice to see some wood grain, thanks for posting pictures. How does the bolt cycle with the paint on it? Does it fit better with the reduced clearance?

Doesn't interfere at all. Cerakote is very thin and if anything make it smoother.
I didn't take any pics of the process on that one and my brother has it now but have been taking pics of my current build. My personal 300WM and will post them up.
that's a great looking rifle. the steel color and wood are about exactly what i have in mind for a .284 winchester build for my girlfriend's dad. he had a model 88 in .284 when he was a kid and has wanted a .284 in a bolt action ever since.
