After picking up the SBR here a while back I was really impressed with the fit/finish of the Zimmerman receiver. I had an extra 10/22 laying around so I decided to build one of their rifle length models.

I went with the XL and a 20" Green Mtn fluted barrel. Black, parkerized bolt from Rimfire Technologies, adj. Vblock, PRS stock, and a Power Custom sear/hammer kit. I had a scope I'm not using and the Harris w/PodLoc so all I need are rings... I like the Warne Maxima and have had good luck with them on a variety of rifles. I ordered the lows like I had for my CZ and several others. I did not take into account the difference in a base mounted on a receiver as compared to an integral rail so they're too low. No big deal, I ordered a set of med. which are rated up to 42mm (same as my scope) but like the low's they're too damn low. So now I have to get a set of high's which I'm sure will work. This is a long way of saying I've had this thing together for a couple weeks and still haven't gotten to shoot it yet.

Hopefully I can get the friggin rings worked out in the next week and get this thing to the range.

Anyway, thought I'd share a couple pics w/o glass as she sits (mocking me) right now...

Re: Latest toy (Zimmerman XL)

Thanks, I'll put up a range report as soon as I get the scope mounted. The tolerances and fit are what impressed me the most about the receiver. It's obvious that they put a lot of thought into the project.

The SBR I have was built on their mini-receiver w/a 5.5" barrel. While I haven't shot any "groups" I will say it shoots great. I might throw a 1-4 on the little one and see what it'll do but I had an EoTech I wasn't using so it's on there for now.

Sorry for the late reply... I've been busy getting divorced. The Zimmerman shoots great. Not as accurate as my 40X but I used it for a 200yd rimfire match with no issues. Been a while since I shot it for groups but it was just under an inch @ 100 and about 1/4" from 25-50yds. Again, sorry for reviving a dead thread.
