Here in my lovely state of Ohio, it is my understanding, that I am allowed to throw my rifle in the passenger seat, action open, and unloaded. Perfectly legal. However it doesnt say anything (that I can find) about keeping the magazine loaded in the rifle, with the action open. A loaded magazine, isnt a loaded gun, in my opinion. Or, keeping the magazine loaded, if it is in a "secure" place. Such as, in the glovebox or in the armrest compartment. If youre not allowed to keep the magazine loaded, at all, its kinda useless for a quick shot on a coyote trotting across a cornfield. Any buckeyes here that can elaborate further?
