Folks,

will the Lawton 40moa Rail be long enough for this scope ?

also I understand that the 10-42x80mm has less adjustment than in a 58mm configuration, but I am still guessing there is plenty there to cope with a 40 moa rail.

I think the 80mm has 120moa adjustment and the 58mm has 295moa adjustment

If you need the #'s give me a shout. Like HSM said they are about 7.5" to 8" long.

JBW#3 and Not A Guru,

I spoke with a US Optics representitve last night initially about 80mm sunshade and ARD, I am going to need a base to suit my Lawton 8000 thats long enough.

I have PM'd you and sent e-mail to Becky. I will need something made if you guys have the time.

PC3,

A friend has both the 40min rail and 10-42x80 mounted on his Lawton 8000 375CT.He has problems with the 0bjective touching the barrel with the scope set to shoot somewhere close to a mile.

It seems like the fix would be a taller base or slimmer barrel contour.

To me those 80mm SN9's are just toooo BIG.

Steve

With the ARD it's even less.

Steve, I actually rang and ordered sunshade and ARD for it, I have said to John that I would like to take up his offer of making a rail specifically for my gun "with 4" shade/ARD attached" which will mean rail will need to be made higher to accomodate this. I will have to raise my cheek piece I suppose

Longer, taller and thicker for less flex and made to correlate with adjustments that the SN9 I am getting corresponds too. I really want to get the rail done right (and US Optics are the best to do it as the SN9 is there baby)and be able to have this scope function to its full capability to help my own "crappy skills" I need all the help I can get

I actually cant wait to try this scope on Dusk and under a full moon. I have wanted one ever since I learned that US Optics existed, may be 3 or 4 times a year I would go to there website and "configure" an SN9 10-42x80.

Everyone I have spoken to at US Optics has just been great and very helpful. Once SN 9 is up and running I can see a 3.8-22x44 in my future, that maybe the only problem with US Optics you cant have only one

Hunter,

I realise John is the Owner of US Optics I should have said "one of your employee's" not representitive.

PC3,

Sounds like you've thought it out really well.

One thing for sure. They are a really bright scope.

Haha,"crappy skills",yah right!...I saw your 1 ragged hole group at 200 yards with your 6XC.There's not too many people that can shoot like that.
