I have purchased a couple Lawton 7500 series custom action and i think they are hands down the very best deal going in comp actions on the market. the price cant be beat!! Now I have a chance to purchase a Lawton rifle barrel. I havent heard anything bad about there barrels but then again i dont think i have heard anything at all about them. Is anyone here shooting one or does anyone know anything i should know about them before i buy one? Thanks Lee

I have not used any since Barney passed, so I don't know if things have changed at all, but I have used about six of them in the past in 6mm, .257, 6.5, 7mm. .30 and .338. All were top notch. They shot excellent and fouled very little. Their hand lapping is very good.

I recently got my 6.5x47 Lap in. And its built on the Lawton 7500 action and a Lawton cut 3 groove barrel. So far it the most impressive custom barrel Ive had yet. Not only does it clean super fast. Its capable of shooting half inch 5 shot groups at 275yds.
They do cost a little more that others, but with the way mines shooting, Id definately buy another..

I just got a 3 groove 20" 308 from them a couple months ago. Amazing barrel. Fouls very little, and shoots better than I do.
You can't go wrong with lawton.

I have a 223AI on a 7000 with a Lawton SS barrel built by Jered. It can do 10 shot groups under a half inch at 100, while fireforming. Great rifle all around.
Now I just need to get the 223 AICS mags, so it isn't a single shot rifle anymore.

i have just ordered a Lawton built rifle...
Left hand L7000 ACTION in 243 win.
25" Lawton barrel 1:7.5 twist
shilen trigger
set on a 2.0 AI stock
with a NightForce 5.5-22x50 zero stop optic
needless to say...i am pumped...should get it in a couple of months...let you all know how it shoots. this is my first custom rifle, i will let you know how it turns out. all i can say up to this point is that Bobby and his team have been top notched. they have worked well with me as i tried to figure out what i wanted. first class operation..look forward to shooting this rifle..

I've had one and it shoot exceptionally well. In fact I was so impressed that I now have a 8500 barreled action on order from them.
