Gunsmithing Lawton vs. Rem LA mount spacing.

I need a 40 or 45 moa pic rail for my Lawton 7000 long action. I need to know from those of you who have built on both, is the hole spacing the same for both actions? Can I just use a base that fits a Rem LA on my Lawton?

Center to center on the action holes is 5.070" when measuring front hole to the first hole in the rear. Center to center on the holes (front & rear) is 0.850".

I know you can use the front of a 2 piece mount on both the front and the back of a Lawton action. So the spacing between the holes on the front and back is the same. Not sure on the spacing between the sets of holes.

Did a little more digging and found that 3 of the 4 will work. The rear hole won't line up.

Other than Lawton, where can I get a rail?

I have a 30 moa base from Lawton. It took me three phone calls and three months to get it. If you can use something else save yourself some headaches.

I agree to this. Lawton Machine has gone downhill over the last year. I will never do business with them again.

Count yourself VERY lucky. I hope you actually wanted the 30 moa base. They've been know to overlook the obvious.

Just spoke to Murphy Precision & they are going to make me a 45 moa base for my 7000 LA with additional length to allow the scope to be mounted further forward.

I wouldn't have heard about their company without the hide.
