could it be that rullet runout can be caused form the way the dies are set in the press ? the dies seem to "float" or move around a good bit in the press because of the quick change tool in the press.

No. But a too-tight press in which the die inside and out, press threads, ram and shell holder are not in absolutely perfect alignment will force a bend in the cartridge.

well bumb me ! its the cheep dies !!! got them when i started reloading, thay are lee dies . my rcbs 308 dies i dont have a problem maby 1 or 2 are bad . what do yall think of crimping ? some say it will help with accuracy. i think it is a must for hunting rounds. think i will try a set of rcbs. even lyman got to bee better than lee.

Got to be "better than Lee" in what way, and how? And why would you think Lyman makes lesser quality dies than RCBS?
In spite of you asking the question I figgered that's what you'd do. Okay, that's exactly how I learned that no brand is magically good or bad too!

well....not to sure that thay are, im ready to try anything at this point ! bullet runout is driving me CrAzY . iv done all th things i can think of . ready to get a hornady concentricity gauge. some people like them and some dont. i dont know what else to do.

I find that concentricity is more a matter of dies than the press.
Also, uniform neck wall thickness.
I just recently started using a Custom Grade New Dimension die set for my .308 and concentricity issues are now non existant. The sizing die yields nice straight cases and the seater, nice straight finished cartridges. What's even nicer is that the price of the die set is less than a single die from Forster that does the same quality job.
One thing to consider also is annealing. Cases that are worked evenly due to uniform metal consistency tend to come out straighter.

Roger that, meaning concentricity doesn't automatically come in a press or die box of any color. If you have a decent concentricity gage find out where in your loading procedure your runout is coming from and fix it there, not at or after the end of the process.
