Rifle Scopes Left hand bolt guns and S&B PM II

I'm guessing you came to the conclusion SB won't work on a left handed action? I have the same question. I think Nightforce it is. Mil-c is available. I was really excited for the H2CMR reticle

Maybe someone can make a bolt handle with a "C" shape in it to clearance the illumination tumor.

My buddy runs 2 S&Bs 3-20s on 3 different left hand bolt actions and claims no issues. 1 is a defiance rebel in an AI chassis, 1 is a remington 700 in a mcmillan stock and 1 is an AI AT.

Yes - it will be trouble...that's why I use Kahles.

A short throw like the AI and Weatherby Mark V would be ok but the long throw of the Remages don't tend to allow enough room. I've never tried a Mausingfield but on their video it doesn't appear to leave enough room. You could mount the scope higher but that doesn't feel natural to me. YMMV

I"m waiting on a Masterpiece Arms, and it has the Kelbly Atlas Tactical. Mile High Shooting and Eurooptic both said the Schmidt Bender knob will cause problems.

S&B PMII may still be the gold standard, but when it comes to left handed actions and 90 degree bolt lifts, the shine comes off the standard. Their are simply too many good optic alternatives to the S&B PMII line today to screw around with S&B and hope it works for you on a 90 degree left handed action. Think more like TT, or Minox, or Vortex, or Nightforce or Steiner M5. They all make outstanding scopes in the 5-25x56mm range that will not have you wishing you bought an S&B. Your knuckles will thank you later......

Yes, 700 clone LH 2 lug/90* bolts WILL cause you to rack your knuckles on a Schmidt illumination knob. I thought I could work around it and on day effing one I went home from the range with bloody knuckles. Jerry at Schmidt (very nice guy) will remove it for you for only $125, but then your IL is disabled AND it's $350 to have it reinstalled. S&B should offer this service for free as long as they refuse to redesign this. My next $4K optic is going to be a Kahles DLR which is a damn fine scope, but I wish I didn't have to do that...

I’d avoid the combination of a 90 degree throw with the side illumination knob. There are several customs with a shorter throw, or plenty of other high quality scopes.

Didn’t S&B just release a scope without the knob?
