Left Handed rifles and Southpaw shooters

I’m left eye dominant and usually shoot off left shoulder but still use a right bolt. I also taught myself to shoot of right when young and found it comes in real handy in room clearing to be able to shoot comfortably of either shoulder. I don’t think there is a lefty forum here though.

Lefties like myself float around. The PX has a lefty sub forum that has left hand bolt guns and accessories. Other then that I’d use the applicable sub forum related to your question and just include the fact that you are looking for lefty specific advice in the title. There’s enough of us you’ll get input.

I'm a full Lefty, but try to do part of every pistol or long gun training day using my support side and closing my left eye. It makes sense from a buyer's standpoint to use a RH rifle because the selection, used or new, is SO much better! I've never owned a RH bolt rifle- how do you guys feel about shooting LH with an RH bolt rifle- any concerns?

I’ll do it in a pinch but if I’m buying my bolt guns are all left hand action. You are right about more selection new/used with a RH action. That being said, there’s some really smoking deals that come up on LH action rifles here and since we are in the minority it gives you a better chance of snatching it up.

RH rifle is fine for bench or belly. Gets a little tricky when in other positions.

It’s impossible to run a right bolt and keep the rifle shouldered when shooting offhand. Makes for slow follow up shots hunting. For prone, it’s just awkward. On barricades / obstacles, your support hand has to come off the gun to run the bolt, which is much slower than using your firing hand. On tricky / unstable stages it’s almost impossible to complete them. Don’t believe me, just hand a lefty rifle to a right handed shooter and watch them struggle lol.
