(Edited: wrote this when I was falling asleep and it didn't make much sense.)
Hey all,
I am looking to purchase a rangefinder. My original budget was $500 but I could save for a while longer if it was worth doing. I am looking at the Leica 1600B as a higher-end option.
A range-finder good on soft targets out to 600, and hard targets to 1000 was my main goal. Ability to range these distances in less than great conditions a huge plus (will be using this for hunting). I have a kestrel and a mil-mil open turret scope, and have been pretty successful ranging known size, stationary targets using this system. However, it's quite a lot to do in a hunting situation where time is not often on your side. That is what attracted me to the Leica 1600B.
I have read reviews saying it's a great unit but to save and buy some uber high end something, and some saying it's not worth the money.
Given my intended application (hunting), do you think this unit would be a solid investment for me?
Thanks in advance for your time.
