You may want to rinse the lens to remove larger chunks of debris before using the brush for the small stuff. Make sure you read the optics manual before using water during cleaning. Some optical coatings shouldn't be cleaned when they are wet. These things any good ?
the design just worries me all you need is it to pick up one piece of debris i had one years didn't care for it years ago all you need is one time on a high end scope i suppose if you blow the dust off before using it could be alright i do not want to debate you just stating what i use even if its some what off thread.
thats my approach as well i carry both but always blow as much as possible off first then i clean off the little spittle spotsThere's really not much to debate, there's nothing wrong with the design, I've used them on everything from Schmidt & Bender optics to a lowly Bushnell red dot, they're fine. Just don't use them foolishly and use the attached brush to remove major dust and debris before using the tip clean up any smudges. I've used the Zeiss wipes also and I've found that I consistently have to go back and remove smudges left over from the wipe, but they are good for getting rid of stubborn water spots or finger prints. Having both is never a bad idea.
