While the term 'sniper' is not in my planned future vocabulary, I am focused on rifle target shooting.
This is a rebirth from my introduction to shooting over 40 years ago when I shot rifle matches with my friends from high school as part of the Jr. NRA program. I found the competition great and the weekly practices an event to look forward to. This weekend (6/1&2) I am taking my first plunge back into the fun with a intro precision shooting class. The intent is to learn (relearn) marksmanship skills, and understand 'playing' with a big boy rifle.
I was guided to start with my recent purchase of a Tika t3 A1, Bushnell Elite Tac scope, and a lot of 6.5 creedmoor ammo. Big investment, I know, But I am sure Love is right around the corner. As a side note, I am looking to become reasonable with and without a scope. I am still looking to understand all the competitive disciplines. But PRS looks promising along with CMP M1 Garand matches, I think.
