Complete with the unveiling of a super cool, terrifying, and alien source of cosmic energy as the cherry on top???

I am indeed curious who first decides to exploit the current levels of distraction, and to where it might lead. It does seem highly unlikely that everyone sits out the opportunity to throw a few punches while adversaries are looking the other way.

I don’t think they need to. The rape/massacre of nanjing is the event that led to the japs attacking Pearl Harbor in the first place..which is what led up to us dropping a a-bomb on them..twice.
If we are talking about history, we should let the japs go for a round 2 of pillaging.
