Here´s my brand new build. It´s intended for medium range shots. Maybe 600-750 yds
Rem 700 VTR .308 win
Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist Style 3 w/ "Hook"
Jewell Trigger @¾ Lb
Weaver 20 MOA Picatinny Rail
Seekins / Vortex 30mm Rings
Vortex Viper PST 6-24X50 FFP
Tactical Bolt Knob

I Bought the stock with the paint job done from someone @ ebay. Very nice job, only downside it´s that it was done with duracoat. The Rifle was cerakoted mil-spec green with matte Black accents.
I already bedded the rail and I´ll be bedding the recoil lug next week. I was planning on bedding the whole action but I read somewhere that with the aluminum bedding block it´s not really necessary.

Looks Great! The Stock is nicely done from the seller. The only concern I have is your scope ring height. I had a B&C Hook Stock like yours and the cheek weld is fairly low. You'll have a hard time getting into a good solid cheek weld and sight picture with the Tall Rings. I suggest you to got with Lows as I have been running Low Rings on all of my Rem 700 with Vortex or other 50mm Objective withou any issues. Works Great and Perfect cheek weld and sight picture everytime.

Great looking Rig! Have fun and go shoot!

Im my opinion with regards to rings and scope height, while prone I like my cheek to be just slightly uncomfortable with the downforce I apply to get proper eye relief. That way, I consciously think about my order of operations each shot, If you can lay down comfortably you will forget things. This is a roundabout way of saying get that scope ALOT closer to the bore.
