The Simrads, surprisingly stated obsolete by some , are definitely around and still in production by Vinghøg a part of the german Rheinmetall Defense AG.
Vinghøg is today one of the key suppliers of Defence and Security electro-optical instruments in the world.
Their NV systems utilizes 2nd and 3rd Gen Image Intensifier tubes according to customer requirements, including the new XR-5 tube.
Some of their electro optics systems is developed in close cooperation with FLIR Systems and Vectronix creating a system with seamless integration of the different components.
