Let's see your remington 700 aac-sd

Still have a lot I'd like to do but for picking up a ~ $700 rifle one day to have a bolt-action .308, then deciding to make it into your portfolio's project... I spent what I could so far and have to recharge a little bit. For now, I am thoroughly happy with my MCS T5A AAC-SD .308 :)

It's had over a 1000 rounds through it all still holds a tight clover , with slight changes in batch to batch of the R15 the barrel has speeded up since it was new from approx 3,950 to present of 4,059 ft/sec for the 52g A-max . It's dropping 0.5 inch at 200 & approx 5 inches at 300 yards . What are you using ?
Thats a screemer mate!!
i am running a sako 75 iv semi custom in 280 Ackley - running the 162 A-max at 3025fps = nice!!!
All the best...

any of you guys have run out issues with the muzzle threads? im scared to death my can is gonna eat a 178 but dont see the point of sending it to a smith to take it off and put it on, might as well rebarrel at that point.

Hi Varminter , that sounds a nice round and as much as I love the heavy bullets in 22's you can't get away from the 7's being the best .
Apart from my 7/270 F Clas rifle , I've just had a barrel done for a field gun in 7/270 but with a 320 neck which was intended to be ' no turn ' option but I couldn't resist a slight clean up . I also have a 7x68 Imp which will run 180's at 3,250 ft/sec but has a very sweet spot at around 3,150 ft/sec .
All the best ...

Thanks mate for your comments ,
Sounds like you have some very nice calibers and rifles there!!
All the best..

I was a bit bored, so I painted my AAC-SD

Just after painting the stick--so soon, in fact, I hadn't even taken the masking tape off the muzzle brake/ejection port/scope knobs...

Really like that paint job. What colors/technique did you use?

First post - long time lurker. Thanks for all the info everyone shares here!

Here's mine - a relatively budget build.
Seekins Precision rail
PWS FSC30 (temporarily taken from a .300blk carbine)
AICS stock
LaRue Tactical LT120 mount (i frequently move this scope between rifles)
Bushnell 3.5x21 HDMR w/ Horus reticle

targets are from the first outing with the rifle. i'm quite inexperienced when it comes to precision shooting, so keep that in mind.
Also, all of these 5-shot groups are from the same session, on the same target, and were sequentially shot (i.e., one group right after the other), so though these are not great groups, they are also not cherry picked.
Surplus 147gr ammo ran about 2-4 inches at 100 yds (that flyer was all me). Once I got it zeroed, I pulled out a box of FGMM 168gr and another of 175gr.
I was very disappointed in (my) first group with the 175's, about 1.3 inches. I knew it was mainly me, but still expected better.
Then I tried the 168's and really focused on the basics. surprisingly better, so much so that i tried another 5 175's and saw a much tighter group there as well.

I'm satisfied that the rifle shoots (much) better than I can, and it's a looker, so it's a keeper!

Limited to 100yds on this (indoor) range, will take it to a 300yd outdoor soon.

What stock pack is on your rifle?

I LITERALLY just got this stock 1 hour ago. B&C Light Tactical #2956 from Stockys. Barrel is completely floated. Sure fire brake, NF NXS, badger metal, everything else is factory. Got a 40x trigger, just haven't had time to put it on yet. I must say I'm DEEPLY impressed with the overall feel of the stock. Have had a few HS Precisions and this feels way better. It's light but very stable. Grip feels great, not to big.... Not to thin. I feel like an idiot for not putting this stock on a bunch of my sps's. you CAN'T beat the price tag
