I got my Kahles 8x32 binos today and they are fantastic! Crisp and clear, better then my Gold Ring Leupold 10x42's. Im not real knowledgeable about binos and have some questions. With my Leupolds i can scan our 600 Yard field at dusk at the furthest point away and not have to adjust the focus until i move in to about 200-300 yards away. With the Kahles i have to constantly adjust the focus, they seem very sensitive to the distance. Im curious if this is due to the size difference between the two, the design and manufacture, or a combo of the two. Anybody else have similar experiences?

The need to refocus the Kahles is probably due to the lower power. I notice the same with my Zeiss 8x32 dialyts vs 10x40 Swarovski SLC's. Both binouculars are about the same in brightness but since the 8x has about 20 percent less magnification, changes in distance seem to be more apparent. This mild inconvenience is offset by the compactness of the 8x binos which I find myself using more often than not.

I've had a pair of them for the last five or six years. They have been outstanding glass. I can't begin to tell you how many miles they have covered in my pack or on my neck. I guess the focus thing is kind of second nature, I've never really noticed any difference in the 8x32's vs Swaro 10x42's. I use them for just about everything from turkey hunting to western whitetails as well as spotting the occasional bad guy. Don't sweat the focus, you will not notice it after a few days.

Yep. I agree with him. Whenever I hold my Swarovski SLC 10x50's My finger is pre-programed to rest on the focus adjustment to fine tune the focus depending of the distance that I am scanning.
I go from 300 yard to 1000 scanning for deer or coyote and it's just a slight turn on the focus ring and I'm clear as a bell.

You guys are correct, im already used to them. I think my eyes have adjusted as well as i can do "fine tuning" with out even thinking about it now. NRA, I paid $450 new for them.
