So I was talking to my agent that I have my home owners insurance through along with all my vehicles and he informed me since I want to build rifles out of my shop as a business that they will not cover the building anymore. So I said to him let me get this straight if I build rifles as a hobby and the building caught fire you would cover it and his response was yes. So I than mentioned so since I would be doing this as a business you will not cover it and he said that is correct. Their BS answer was because of Liability and I mentioned I could get the liability through the NRA. My agent’s response was what is the big deal if you have to pay more for insurance if we do not cover the building if it is a business that makes money it should not be a big deal to cover the cost. I can tell the prick knows nothing about what it costs to do this type of work with equipment and tooling costs. So I contacted the NRA and for their liability coverage without the building is 840 a year. Now since I have to cover the building they are working a quote for me but it could be double or triple that amount. So my question is what are you guys doing for insurance and is there a company that you would recommend? I think I need to change anyway since mine seems not to be pro gun from the conversation I had. If you do not feel comfortable discussing it in public please send me a pm.
