Rifle Scopes Leup Mk4 base

Neophyte question about bases here. I've got an older Leup Mk4 base that I'd like to put on a new rem700p. Problem is that the base isn't true. There's a bit of a 'sag' over the chamber and the base doesn't sit flat on the receiver. Not an experience rifle shooter so I appreciate everyones advice.

Yup.

You need to bed it.

Before you do, make sure it's straight. Put it on something you know is perfectly flat upsidedown and see if there's any light underneath.

I had a couple TPS rails that were bowed out like that.
