I just heard the Leupold will show some of their new scopes at the shot show especially in the tactical department,im curious to see what new.I have my heart set on a new Nightforce 5.5 22x56(you get what you pay for) but I guess I can wait and see.

One thing is for certain... It will be big and more expensive than everone else’s.

Re: Leupold 2012 Scopes

Leupold are going to be launching a 1-6x24 tactical scope with a 34mm tube for about $2000. I think it's meant to be the baby sister of their infamously expensive CQBSS 1.1-8 scope. Not sure if the 1-6 version will have a daylight visible illuminated "Aimpoint" bright type red dot though.

Interestingly, Bushnell are going to be launching a competing model, a 1-6.5x24 for $1300.

Re: Leupold 2012 Scopes

just a question but what does a 34mm tube do for a 1-6x scope?? not to mention the objective lense is only 20mm???I have always thought the larger tube diameter allowed for greater internal adjustment range ONLY. if I am right who is going to run a scope like this to 1500 yards. as a side note the extra 20 moa the 34mm tube offers in most scope lines takes my 243 ai an extra 200 yards, from 1700ish to 1900ish, ie beyond the useful range of my equipment, and in the realm of 338 lapua and 50 bmg only type ranges.

Re: Leupold 2012 Scopes

Thanks for sharing the prices. Leupold was reluctant to name a price for folks at SHOT this year. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the new Mark6 scopes, they're really, really, well designed.

Re: Leupold 2012 Scopes

You know what they say about wishing in one hand and crapping in the other but I wish they would make a FXIII 6x42 w/ M5 Mil Turrets and a Mil-dot Reticle for my hunting rig.

Their turrets certainly are. I saw one at Hardrock. They are huge.

Re: Leupold 2012 Scopes

Has anyone looked through the Leupold Mark 6 3-18-44. This scope looks like what I am looking for provided the glass is commensurate with the asking price.

thanks,

Johnny

Re: Leupold 2012 Scopes

I looked through it at SHOT show and it "seemed fine". Like others have said, it's difficult to tell when you're indoors and only have short distances available. You really need to look through some mirage at distance to get a better feel for the quality of the optic.

I was really impressed with the Mark 6 package, I'm saving up for one when they are released to the public.
