Rifle Scopes Leupold 6x42 or SS-6x

Good question, but it doesn't look like you are finding many answers here. I have been entertaining the idea of a 6x42 myself, but haven't found the right one yet. Heavy mirage during the summer months usually dictates my variable scopes down below 12x anyways. I think a fixed 6 power scope with a 1/2 mil reticle, 10 mil elevation knob, zero stop, and capped windage knob would be one hell of a mid range hunting scope. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a market for a scope like this.

If you could get an m5 elevation knob, low profile capped windage, and a tmr reticle for the fx3, I would pick up one up for sure.

Call their custom shop, see if, for a price, of they can install what you need. Nice folks, I tried to get a "Turkey Plex" for their 2.5x 28 scout scope, but they couldn't do it. But it worth a shot to call and see.

I wouldn't mind a solid fixed four power scope with those features mentioned above. I might get one.....

I know of a LOT of diehard Leupold fans that are taking their Leupolds off to slap on a SWFA SS 6x.

For me, the mil quad reticle and a shitload of travel seals the deal. I have very little modern Leupold experience, but I just don't see how anyone could be disappointed by a 6x SS with the MQ reticle. I have heard some folks complain about the MQ being hard to see in low light while hunting. I personally don't have a problem with that, but it may be something to consider. If it's an issue, just go mil dot.

They are probably extremely competitive in almost every aspect, but I'm guessing that the Leupold doesn't have near as much travel. I don't have enough experience with the loopy to give a fair comparison, but I can say that I would be absolutely astonished to find something that I like better, for the same price, than the 6x SS.
