Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 4 LR/T

Re: Leupold Mark 4 LR/T

You can have the custom shop fit the M3 knobs to it. I have the 6.5-20X50 with M3's, good scope. The M3's have a built in zero stop into the knob and mine actually goes one click below zero.

I'd like to see pics, I have a mark 4 with 1/4MOA tactical knobs and was told by them that they couldn't fit the 1moa click m3 elevation knob on it.

edit: don't understand the zero stop on an m3 knob part, it's a single-turn knob that goes from 0-50something minutes in one turn.

It works well.

Actually, that is misinformation. Elevation adjusts in 1moa increments, windage in 1/2moa increments.

I didn't have any problem getting them to do the conversion. Here is a pic of the scope:

And here is my wife with her first Antelope buck a few yrs ago using that scope on her KMW 308:

And yes, the M3 is just the knobs. The M3 knobs adjust in 1 MOA elevation, 1/2 MOA windage. And as stated earlier, these knobs don't care either if it is 10 degrees or 100 degrees. Use the BDC data that is engraved at the top of the turrets if it matches your load and conditions, or completely disregard as we do. For information purposes however, my particular scope actually adjusts IPHY, not true MOA. Good scope though, tracks great thus far.

What do you want, the front, back, side, top or what? Looks like any other M3 elevation turret.

Re: Leupold Mark 4 LR/T

Strange. I've had 3 scopes with the M3 knobs, they have all looked like the above. If you have the original Mark 4 scope, then yes, the M3 turret will look very different, with a cap I believe. Do you have one of the variable scopes, or one of the original Mark 4 line of scopes?

Geb

Edited to add the following links, original line:

Variable line with M3's:

Hope that helps.

Do you know if they will put M3 knobs on one of these (LRT) -

I'm pretty sure Mike at www.cstactical.com used to carry the 4.5-14X50 M3's but I just checked his site and didn't see them. Call the Leupold custom shop and ask if they'll do it. I had mine done when I ordered direct from Leupold a few yrs ago, through their military program. I don't remember the price exactly either, so best bet would be to give them a call and inquire. 1-800-leupold I really like my scope set up this way, works great for our purposes.

Thanks, I really enjoy it. Really crisp and the turret has worked as a BDC for the ammo I shoot out of it.

Re: Leupold Mark 4 LR/T

I've got an Mark 4 with M3 knobs. They are engraved "168gr 308" on top. Is there anything to this or will it work just like any other scope? Is it calibrated to that exact load?

Edit: I'd really like to run heavier bullets: 175's to 208's...

Call Leupold they'll make them for any load you want.As has been said you can IGNORE the BDC and simply use the dial for MOA setting with your range card. You do have a range card for your rifle/loads right?

It will work like any other scope. The elevation is 1 MOA per click, and the windage is 1/2 MOA per click.

Could be wrong but I believe that is a M3 scope, not M3 knobs.</div></div>

"Mark 4 10x40mm LR/T M3"

I've used the BDC on this w/ my 168g loads chronoed at 2650 out to 500 yards here in Texas. So far it's been on the money. I know that conditions can change, I always go w/ the "shooter" program as a backup, but it's almost always the same about of turns.

Just FYI

Re: Leupold Mark 4 LR/T

I use a M3 fixed scope and really like it. I have been also testing out a Leupold MK4 M5 and it has been nice.

Re: Leupold Mark 4 LR/T

You can make a zero stop out of a piece of brass pipe... I don't remember the diameter though. Unknown here on the hide gave me that tip. It works like a charm on my LR/T, and costs next to nothing.
