I'm considering this as a purchase, a used one.That said I was wondering if anyone has "first hand" knowledge or experience with the following.I'm new to Leupold's warranty but I have read that you can send the spotter back and have the eye cups replaced for free? and if the glass was scratched, would they replace that under warranty? Let me what your experiences have been? Thanks

I have one of these spotting scopes with the TMR reticle and they are great, I really love mine. If you get one then I would highly recommend buying one of the aftermarket covers for it (Dr. Phil here on the hide makes great ones, I have one in woodland camo and it is great.) They will probably replace the eyecups but I would not count on them replacing lenses that are scratced on the exterior lens surfaces. Scratches are not a manufacturing defect unless they are on the interior surfaces, even then they have specifications on what scratces are acceptable. Scratches are more the result of improper cleaning of the lens surfaces. That being said, I do know that Leupold has, on occasion, just went ahead and replaced scratched lenses, but it is usually up to the repair tech.

I only used Leupold support once to replace the eyecups. They mailed one out to me free of charge.
