I recently got a 3x9x40 mark AR for my(big surprise)AR15. I finally got to put some rounds down range and am rather disappointed. 3 power puts shots in one place and 9 power in another. I remember years ago my first scope was a tasco and had the same problem, sent it back and will never buy another. I may have to do the same for leupold. I am suspecting it may not even be holding zero as well. I haven't owned a ton of scopes, but man am I getting sick of it. I just wish I could $$fine these manufactures for all the ammo I have wasted determining these scope of the problem. Is this a common problem?

Oh man. This is gonna get good!!!

I've been very happy with all my Leupolds. Give them a call and they'll take care of ya. Guys here HATE everything LEUPOLD. Shoulda got a NF or Premier.

I know they will probably take care of the problem, it is just one of those wasted ammo/time nuisances that drives me nuts. I just wanted a reasonably cheap scope that would at least do the job for coyote hunting. Now, I have to have down time w/out scope til the problem is remedied.

Not baggin your choice of optics ... Leu makes decent scopes. Im just a KISS guy ... 10x fixed for me. Yah the FOV is small at 100 but don't have these issues. Hope they get it sorted for yah

How much is the change in POI when you change magnification? There is a POI change with inexpensive scopes during magnification that are SFP. Though I have not shot one of the Mark AR's, I have owned several Leupolds (Rifleman, Vari-X II, and VX-III) but haven't had that problem. I did have that issue with a Simmons, but it was repeatable Is the scope consistant at each magification? Is it holding zero?

I have not used the AR series, but I have a couple of Leupold M2's that seem to work well. What distance are you shooting?

Re: Leupold Mark AR, not so great.

I was shooting 100y and having it shift 1.5 inches low and 1.5 inch right at 3power. 200 yds was more pronounced but seemed to be having groups move when I would shift back to 9x. Grouping at 200y was not totally conclusive as I had run out of federal premium and had to shift to a 1 moa HSM ammo. 2inch groups at 200 yds are a little messier to track. I guess I am spoiled by good ammo. I may have to try again after tomorrows sub zero weather clears.

Yeeaahh, you probably should use the same ammo during testing. Fed. GMM is hard to beat. You're right though, it is irratating even if it is taken care of by the manufacturer. Good luck.
