Rifle Scopes Leupold Mk6 Illuminated TMR???

I recently picked up a Mk6 3x18 with the illuminated TMR. Much to my surprise the illuminated TMR is different than the non-illuminated.
The non illuminated has a small center aperture where the crosshairs come together like the Vortex EBRs. I really like that setup.
The illuminated TMR has a significantly larger aperture with a floating dot. I like that a lot less.

I was totally unaware that the reticles would be different. I got the scope from a reputable supplier so I'm pretty sure it is authentic.

Can anyone who has a Mk6 with illuminated TMR comment? Are the reticles supposed to be different?

I believe the early models had the full crosshair/open center reticle. Then they switched to the floating dot TMR.

Bastards!! Did they do that for the non illuminated as well?

I've got a Mk6 3-18 that I got in Nov '16, it's non-illuminated and has the small open-center w/o floating dot.

Let me know if you can't stand your reticle and want to swap to non-illum. I'd kick in cash.
