Rifle Scopes Leupold or Bushnell HDMR???

Looking at possibly replacing my Leupold LRT 6.5-20 TMR's with with a Horus based first focal plane Leupold or Bushnell HDMR. As far as quality of glass, has anyone really compared the two? Any help would be appreciated.

I prefer my HDMRs over the Leupolds I've owned. To my eye, the glass is better. The eye box is more forgiving, and the price is right.

The Bushnell HDMR scopes are very nice they offer great futures and the G2 reticle rocks. I feel the Bushnell glass is not as good as the Leupold glass. The Bushnell HDMR has better features over the MARK 4 but on par with the MARK 6.

From what I have seen so far the HDMR's are getting really good reviews! I'm thinging of one for my next build.

I sold my Leupold mark 4 and bought the Bushnell HDMR with the TRemor reticle. I would do it again 100 times over. I can't say enough good things about the HDMR. They have a great L.E. rep that hooked me up too.

From my 100 yard zero I have 22 mils of elevation left.

I think I measured total 30 mils.


Here are some photos though the glass of the new ERS. It still has some CA issues, but it REALLY has to do with where you are behind the scope. If I put a lot of cheek pressure on it, the fringing looks yellow. Not enough, it's purple. If I have the right amount of cheek pressure, I don't see much of it. It's improved over my HDMR, and neither bothered me anyway.

I've got Leupy's and the new XRS and to my eyes the Leupy doesn't come close. I also do not get any of these "chromatic aberrations" that some say are present, not to say that my failing eyes don't contribute.
Glass is crisp and bright, top to bottom, side to side. Don't miss my S&B's at all, especially with the magnification range the XRS has.

30 mils elevation and 18 mils windage, at least that's what mine has.
Their website seems to understate the travel on the ET line of scopes pretty much across the board.

I think im going with the HDMR because I feel it's the best bang for your buck.

I have 2 friends with hdmrs and its a pretty sexy scope. I'm not sure you can say the glass is better than a leupy, but there aren't many scopes that offer its adjustment range. If you plan on doing any ELR shooting, it's the HDMR... No contest.
