leupold scope

Friends runs mk5s, they've survived on his heavy, low recoil prs rifles. His hunting weight braked 7prc put a couple in the grave. They're not the most durable scopes for heavy recoil. Muzzle brakes on light heavy recoil rifles are abusive on scope internals.

I haven’t seen this with NM 338 and 300, where are you hearing that Mk5s are not durable under recoil?
I've killed a 3.6-18 atop a 10# 300nmi, buddy killed a 3.6-18 top a 7prc, then again my 300nmi killed a 5-25 atacr, and Burris xtr3 as well. My 338 rum has killed a few kahles and top end Athlon scopes. Big braked Uber mags that are under 11# kill scopes. Nothing is immune to failure. I've just witnessed and observed enough proof in my mind, I would not run a mk5 unless it was a low recoil heavy rifle. That's my thought on the subject, take it for what it's worth.
