New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Could someone explain how this reticial works? And if you had a choice, would you pick the TMR or the Mil-Dot Recticial, and why? Thanks, getting ready to order a scope for my new .300 WM and looking at my options.
32 pages of reading. Short version is they are both Mil based reticles. A Mil is 3.6" @ 100 yds. The TMR uses hashes instead of dots, and has 1/2 (1.8" @100 yds) mil marks.
Agreed, alot of the newschool reticles look cool on paper but applying them to a tactical environment can be difficult if not ridiculous if you dont have enough time to take the shot.
My vote for best reticle is the Improved Mil dot by NF.
Thanks BobinNC. It will give me something to read. Looks like I might go with the TMR, but I think I'll wait untill Leupold does the .1 mil conversion in mid January.
TMR is my next purchase, swapping out the Mark 2 3-9x40 w/MilDot for a Mark4 3.5-10x40 w/TMR for my SPS-T. Going to put the Mark 2 in a detachhable mount and use between my 6.8 and wife's 5.56 ARs.
I have two rifles, one with a Leupold TMR and the other a Nightforce MLR. I like them both and they are easy to range targets with. I don't need a rangefinder with these.
