I'm looking to upgrade to a better spotting scope. Mostly for watching game animals and I'd like to adapt my digial camera for some photos.

I've been looking at the Vortex Skyline ED 20-60x80. I was thinking this is what I was going to go with because of all the good things I've heard about Vortex. Now I see Leupold has a new spotter called the Kenai 25-60x80 HD. Does anyone know anything about the Kenai? It's priced cheaper than the golden ring spotter and has HD glass.

Re: Leupold vs Vortex spotter

I'm sure it is but it's a little more than I want to pay. Also I've never had a angled scope and I don't think I would like it. Any idea how the Skyline ED glass would compare to the Razor HD glass?

Everyone on this website seems to be in love with Vortex. But Leupold has been in business for a long time with a good reputation and you have to respect that.

That said, I think Kowa offers the best performance per dollar spent in spotting scopes.
