I use mine without target knobs to click in elevation corrections and it tracks just fine. The Target model should be just that much easier to do the same thing.

I have a mark 4 in 4.5-14x40 that uses basically the same knobs as the 6-18x40. the knobs as very positive and track well. if its a leupy than odds are its gonna be a good scope. id say if its in the mag range you want and you like the reticle then go for it. the good thing is that leupold scopes hold their value well and if you decide to upgrade latter it shouldn't be too hard to sell.
