First post for me. Within the next few months ill be in the market for a new rifle. General purpose will be punching holes in paper out to 400 yards in my back yard. Theres a range near me that goes to 700 yards. Id like to take some classes to help me get into local PRS matches. I regularly shoot my 6.5 grendel AR, its my current "precision" setup. Best ive done us .55 moa at 300 yards. Im looking to reload for the new rifle. But im torn between 6mm creedmoor and 6.5 creedmoor. Down to those 2 because when not reloading i can get factory ammo. Now my problem, $1500 ish budget for the rifle. Im looking hard at the tikka t3x tac a1 but its $1800, and not in 6mm cm. Next is savage 10 stealth evolution. Its cheaper and comes in 6mm cm. Being a lh shooter REALLY limits my options. Any input or other options others know about will be appropriated.

Bighorn origin LH 6.5 Creedmoor. That will set you back about $1200 at keystone accuracy. Then you have to find a Remington stock for $300. That will be hard to do so you might as well just pick up a right hand stock and modify it to make it work.
I am going to run contrary to other posts. I am also a LH shooter and hear and lived your plight. What I don't understand is

- If you're within $300 of the Tikka, why not wait and buy the Tikka. I have a few buds that run this and it is a really nice rifle. It is designed out of the box to do what you want so no fussing and mussing. You may even get lucky while waiting and see a used one for sale.
- Why 6mm CR? What does it get you that 6.5 CM won't. You listed the main advantages of the 6.5 CM (factory available from a number of OEMs). 6mm CM factory is only available from Hornady I think. 6mm has considerably lower barrel life as well so depending on how much you practice, this is a more expensive route.

I am confused here . Does the tikka tac come in a left hand? Does the RPR come in a left hand? Why is the RPR $100 more they can be had for $800 to$850.

The tikka does come in lefty, i havent seen the rpr in lefty myself. Some reasoning behind the 6mm over the 6.5 is lighter recoil, better ability to see the impacts. Barrel life would be a concern, but barrel cost isnt terrible once you have the whole package.
Damn didn’t know Tikka had a LH. $2000 seems a little much considering their CTR rifle is about $1000.
