Dumb question. I was reading through the maintenance instructions for my suppressor it calls for a light coat of oil after use before storage. This is a welded suppressor. Do any of you do this and if so how do you get a thin coat on all the baffles with out having oil pool in the suppressor? Thanks.

I do not put any oil on mine. They sit out for about a day so that any moisture built up is definitely gone and then they go straight into the safe where there is a dehumidifier. I would keep oil away from the insides in any large quantities if you do use some as if it's on a rifle you're going to shoot heavy enough to the point where it gets real hot the oil will ignite inside the can. I've seen it a number of times on new cans especially.

Call me weird but I don't really worry about doing a whole lot to my cans unless a piston needs cleaning on a pistol can or a 22 can needs to have some lead/carbon cleaned out.
