I am looking for advise on building a light/short rifle that will be used in PRS style matches most shots under 800 with some out to 1200. I already have a Savage 10FCP-SR in 308 in an MPA BA Lite chassis that I would like to use as a base. (Still intend to shoot the 308 but looking for another barrel to shoot in 6.5 creed as well). I am wondering what length and contour would bes to get for the above criteria. Looking for the shortest thinnest options without giving up too much velocity and accuracy. Currently looking at the Shilen Select predict barrels but not set on them if there are other profit options that are just as good as I have read. I do intend to run a suppressor on it as well. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

@Lowlight covered this in his podcast, episode 3 maybe. Lighter bullet like 123 grain scenar and 20" 1/7 twist if I remember correctly. Everything else will be preference. I could be off with that barrel length.

That's what got me thinking about building one but I don't believe it mentioned contour.
The shorter the barrel the less profile needed for stiffness, but other than that I'm in no position to offer advice. Have you though about a savage pref-fit from Proof? That's what I am looking into for my Origin.
Edit: I've also been looking at CarbonSix barrels, some nice pre-fit options.
