If you paid full price on the Ar-30 you will more than likely going to take a hit on the used market. I would just keep it, drill and mill out portions of the stock to save some weight. Get a lightweight 3.5-10 optic with a qd mount and switch it for when you go hunting. Also Ditch the muzzle break, and get the surefire one for it(Or make your own). Save 1-2lb at least just switching out the break perhaps 1/2 lb from the stock, and 1lb from the optic. You would be looking at around 11lbs +/- 1lb. No 8lb rifle, but sure a lot lighter than the majority of rifles here. I think even my M4 with all DBAL, EO-tech, sure fire, etc weighs in close to 10lbs.
