Good morning everyone. I just ordered and 18" White OAK 3 gun barrel for a new 223 upper. I am now trying to figure out what scope to put on this upper once I get it together.

I have 2 options that I am currently looking at, but am open to other suggestions that fit the same basic category (2-4 minimum power, 15-18 upper end, sub $1k, sfp, less than 22 ounce weight). The two options are the Razor LHT and the Meopta Optika5 3-15. Really the comparison would be between the Razor LH and the Meopta as I would move my 3-15 LH to this rifle and use the LHT for a different rifle.

This is going to be mainly a hunting gun, groundhogs would be the primary target. I would also take this to the range from time to time and plink some steel out to 600 yards. Is the Razor worth the extra spend for my use? I am ignoring reticle and other differences as those all meet what I need, I am mainly focused on the optical quality of the two optics.

For the price point, I have a favorable opinion of the Vortex LHT.

I think it is very useable glass.

I had good success spotting trace (good conditions).

6mm impacts on steel at 500 were obvious and separate.
