Lightweight Bolt Action?

I am getting ready to build a lightweight long action hunting rifle. I am looking at saving weight and am considering the following actions:

1. Defiance Machine Anti-X - 23.4 oz
2. Terminus Kratos Lite - 27.2 oz
3. Bat Machine Vampire - 25 oz

Does anyone have any thoughts on which of these actions they would prefer or any cautionary tales? Are there any other actions I should consider? I am trying to stay away from titanium actions.

Good call, for many many many reasons.

Personally, I’d go with the AnTi-X off that list. It saves a ton of weight and doesn’t have many fancy things that can go wrong.

The anti is pretty neat, mine just arrived. Pretty clever stuff with none of the drawbacks of ti. Its what id use just because of it’s weight. I think it's the cheapest action on your list too.

I am looking at going custom as I want to be able to use a faster twist and I like to tinker.

Another one you might consider is the Defiance Rebel - if you spec it out right it can be pretty lightweight and just a really nice action. This is their medium action but at 25 ozs its one to consider?? Long action shouldn't be much more.

The bat is pretty new but they make awesome products. That said the defiance and terminus are fantastic. I don’t have either model listed but own a terminus and defiance and both are great actions. If weight between the two really make the difference go defiance if not I’m a huge fan of the terminus personally and highly highly recommend them! There build quality, customer service and small details like threaded trigger pins is just second to none!!
