i've got a pig of an ar with a nightforce ffp on top of it that's too heavy to carry
so the nightforce is coming off and i want to replace it with about a 1 pound scope
the ar is a 24 inch sabre defense varmint 204 that'll put 3 shots within a dime at 100 yards if the wind ain't blowing
it'll mainly be for prairie dogs out to about 500 yards
budget is $1k or less
i don't want mils, i'm a moa guy and i won't be talked out of it
i'd prefer to dial and don't want a cluttered up reticle
i'll zero the thing in at 100 yards
i'll range whatever with a leica 1200
right now i'm leaning towards a leupold long range side focus in 4-14 or 6-20 cds
weight and ranging ability is the main factor
so what do you think?
