Okay, so let me preface this by saying I am an idiot when it comes to wiring and most other things electrical related. Could one use an electronic linear actuator that controlled a base with a target mounted to it for a mover that just does a back and forth movement? In my head, I'm envisioning a wheeled/tracked base on some sort of track with a rod attached that goes to the actuator to keep it from catching spall. Feel free to heckle my idea to death.... A foot or two of movement back and forth would make for a sporty target at distance.
