I recently came by a very cheaply priced Northrop Grumman MK VII Eye Safe Laser Range finder. I ended up with it in a rather destitute condition (the inner night vision tube had been broken out from its cam and presumably recycled), although I received with its original wiring setup. I had heard it mentioned in the past that it could be connected via serial and information about the target (az, el, range, optional lat/lon w/ dagr, etc) could be streamed into a computer. I would love to write a driver so that this could still be used with modern tools (eg: ATAK or WinTAK). That being said, after plugging it into an RS232 port and monitoring it with some debugging tools, I couldn't get anything back. I am guessing I do not have everything set up properly, but my unit did not come with a manual.

I know a couple of these have been bought and sold by people here. Does anyone have a PDF of the manual for this system or know where I could find one? Has anyone else tried to interface with these units before?

The operation manual is MFT60000-21. An 18500 battery powers mine well. I have a complete unit, but never thought of connecting it to a pc.
I have been using a CSC 93D for the battery. Is your battery a 3.7v setup? Might consider 3d printing a sleeve and switching over to a 3.7 volt if it has been working out well for you.

I unfortunately can't find any a copy of MFT60000-21. Know anyone who might have a scan?
