Hi: I’ve been looking at both the LMT MARS and the Seekins SP10 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I really like the ability to swap calibers with the LMT and use the same optic. Anyone using the LMT MARS in competitions and is the accuracy comparable to the SP10?

I have an SP10. It shoots phenomenally well for a large frame gasser.

I can shoot 10 round into 3/4- to 1MOA groups every time with 140 ELDMs. Very soft shooting and very little positional shift when shooting from bags or tripods.

I did swap the trigger for an SSA-E but otherwise it is stock.

I do get the barrel switch appeal as someone who has an ATX. And I am on the hunt for an LMT upper to run a short 308 or 6.5 barrel.

Can't go wrong with either. I have appreciated the accuracy out of the Seekins and the ability to tune the gas accordingly.

I’ve owned both many times over and still have the Lmt. Seekins is nice but I’d choose Lmt all day, but like most things a lot of personal preference. The Lmt is typically heavier but gives you the option to swap not only barrels but upper style too. (Quaudrail, mlok and lm8 ). Haven’t used it in comps yet but plan to use the 20” 6.5cm soon, I think @unclemoak has and others potentially too. Both are solid choices like @NHPiper said.

I have both and like both. I have 2 LMTs and 1 Seekins. My boys both shoot LMTs. Which is more precise will be determined by the barrel lottery.

If I could only own one, I’d sell my Seekins. I think the LMT is the better gun. That’s not selling the Seekins short though. The good thing about the Seekins if the abundance of off the shelf barrel options. You’re stuck with LMT or custom with the MWS. My biggest gripe with LMT is that they use mid length gas on their 16” barrels. I ended up having an 18” rifle gas barrel cut for one of mine. I’d have already bought a 16” 6.5 barrel if they weren’t mid lengths.

I’ve got two large frame LMT‘s and one SP10. FWIW my opinions:
Seekins is slightly more accurate.
IMO Seekins cracked the code for making highly accurate large frame AR’s at scale.
Absolute believer in Seekins as a company. IMO they set the standard for CS in the gun industry.
Seekins forend takes some getting used to but really like it.
LMT shines in its versatility.

You can send just about any AR10 barrel to D Wilson to be converted.

I’ve owned three SP-10s and I think 5-6 LMT MWS and MARS-H. A few SR25s as well from K1s, APCs and between.

Landed on the LMT again after trying those platforms due to D Wilson ARCA adapters, being able to just get the upper and lower then build the things out exactly how I want, actual monolithic upper, barrel changes for if I want to shoot 308 or 6.5 for myself.

You can also send your barrels to D Wilson for gas blocks like a SA adjustable and many more.

One thing I do like about the MRGG-S are the gas ports and overall just the counter sink they have on them.

That’s just me though. Your mileage may vary.
