Gunsmithing LMT upper to KAC lower

My LMT upper showed up yesterday and thought all I had to do was install/torque the barrel and slap it on the lower. The rear pin went in easily and the front barely went in and then got stuck.

I read that LMT has speed bumps and you file them down for a custom fit. Well I filed the bumps down flush and could only get 3/4 of the front pin in by hand. I had to smack it in the rest with a hammer.

I didn’t want to just keep filing down the receiver causing an uneven surface and still have the same issue.

My DD upper bolts right into the KAC lower no problem. The front pin with the LMT upper on the DD lower went further in by hand and a few light taps with a hammer fully seated.

Although the LMT/KAC is together and I can pop the rear pin easily for service, this is just annoying. Any recommendations?
