Does anybody know if load data for a regular sierra match king will work with the tipped match kings? I've gotten behind on updating my load manuals and just had an itch to try some 77gr tmk's for kind of an updated home-brewed version of the mk262 mod1 rd. I was planning on loading some std match kings, and some tipped match kings and see if there was any difference. I then realized that my manual is so old, it doesn't list any TMK's.

Back off the powder charge weights about 5-10% when working up as you're seating a longer bullet down into the case. Running the same charges, especially looking for a Mk262 clone will lead to some severe pressure issues.

I have not played with the 77s yet, but have been playing with the 69s at lower velocities (around 2600 fps) to compare data and see what they actually do out at distance.

A 69 TMK needed to be loaded 0.035" longer (OAL) than the SMK to be at the same velocity with the same powder charge. At 100 yards, center of 5 shot group was 0.7" higher and at 300 yards, it was 3.2" higher. I am going to up the powder charge later this week and see how they do out at 600.
