Load testing?

I have in the past when testing loads for a high powered hunting rifle fired all groups from a clean barrel with one fouling shot. I always cleaned between groups. I am wondering what most folks do when testing loads for finding the most accurate load?

I use a good quality match ammo (FGMM)as a base-line and clean the barrel when groups begin to open up with that ammo. Sometimes 300+ rounds between cleaanings.
