loading 170gr bullet in .270wsm

I was talking to Berger for possible loads for a 270wsm hunting rifle using their 170gr. Their man mentioned an overall length aprox. 1/10" longer than my current mag length. The bullet's ojive(?) is inside the case neck 1/10", leaving .155" of the bearing surface secure in the neck. Bullet dia. is .273 at case mouth. Besides case volume loss, and jump to lands, is there any reason to worry about function? New territory for me.

Forgive me for asking but what twist barrel? At that weight range twist would probably be the biggest concern to me

I am having a 1-8 barrel being installed at the 'smith right now. I was wondering about the seating depth in the case, as,I haven't run into this before where bullet is held firm but the ogive is inside case mouth.
