I am planning to load a bunch of 6.5 CM up with 140 ELDM and hornady brass. I want to it closely match the Hornady Factory load velocity so i can go back to handloads if needed, does anyone have any experience behind this? Any help is appreciated.

Just looking for some load data to get me started but i have had a tough time finding anything on the web.

I just saw a thread a couple days ago about this. Seems they were saying Hornady reports 41.5 gr H4350 for the match ammo but people were finding it to be higher from pulling bullets on factory loads. You should be good to start at 41 and work up from there to figure it out.

In a 26” Desert Tech 6.5CM barrel I can match the velocity (factory 2762 ft/s) with 42.3gr H4350 (2765 ft/s)...however my accuracy node starts 0.1gr higher. I seat mine 0.020 off the lands which is a CBTO of 2.203 whereas I find Hornady to be 2.173 on average when using a Hornady comparator.

Again this is for my gun /barrel /conditions... yours may vary. As always work up safely for your conditions.

I tried to do this since I started shooting the factory match ammo my gun was made for which was giving me about 2680. With less powder charge of H4350 than what came in the match ammo im at 2820 with my reloads. head scratcher

Thanks this is all very helpful. I’m running an 18” barrel gas gun. The factory ammo is right at 2600. I will start with the 4350, If I can match velocity and the ammo shoots accurately I’ll be happy. Looks like I’ll be starting out at 41.5grains.

I may later down the road have to experience with a faster burning powder.
