I use blue only, blue can be broken with hand tools if you use red you would have to use power tools and /or heat to break it per manufacture's instructions.

A good thing to do is put a drop of blue loctite between the base and the action. This will fill any tiny void that exists and prevent water from wicking in there and causing rust on the action over time. This matters more in some climates than others for sure.

Quarter Horse yes I was joking. Several years ago just for the fun of it dad and I built a FLGR for a 1911. Mostly just to see if we could. The salesman did mention that blacl is permanent. It kind of gives you a funny feeling in the pit of your stomach when you use it too. There isn't any going back after it's applied.
