Lock-N-Load problem

Every once in a while on my new Lock-N-Load, the case seems to get stuck in the powder dump about half way up. As I add a little pressure, it seems to give and shit goes every where and the case looks like it's been crimped. (All of this on the powder dump stage only.)

In other words, the case gets stuck, I give it a little more muscle, the case goes up, powder goes every where, and then the case comes out "crimped".

I am using Varget, so I THINK that is the problem. It's not feeding well, and it has to break a kernel to continue through the feeding process as the dump rotates.

Any idea? Is Varget the issue? Time to try Tac?

Your correct with Varget being the issue.
I had the same problem and talked with Hornady about it and they confirmed that Varget doesn't meter well enough to keep it from binding and suggested using a ball powder instead.

Since then for my 5.56 loads I've been using Tac and man it meters fantastic and its consistent in the amount of powder it throws.

Good luck !
