Hi folks,

I have been shooting my 7x64 (think 280 Rem) out to 1,200 yds (long range by my standards).

I have been using 180gr Hornady ELD-Ms (when I can get them) and more recently Nosler 185gr RDFs.

Is there anything else people would recommend for longer range target shooting?

Best wishes,

Scrummy

The Berger calculator says in 300 elevation a 8.5 twist has marginal stability at 3000fps. Not sure how accurate their numbers are to real world testing
I can’t say I’ve ever had any issues with a marginal stability number and down range performance with cup/core bullets.
With solids you should definitely consider spinning the crap out of them.

A 8 twist absolutely gave me no issues as long as I avoided Hornandy bullets in my 7 saum.
