there will be a informal competition shoot at my house for long range rimfire. we are shooting 200 yds wich isn't exactly long range but it will be for me with a rimfire. im shooting a marlin 883ss 22mag. any tips besides alot of pratice between now and then. id hate to lose with home field advantage.

What are your targets going to be?
yes practice.
test your ammo/ rifle in the temp's you expect the day to be
wind dope.
practice your grin for your victory pic.

there will be wind flags
the targets will be water balloons. you tie full waterballoons in various colors. its a timed event and you try and take out your color as fast and few shots as you can. there are 5 balloons that are your color. also penelty for taking out wrong color. should be a good time.

My .22 Mag is that same gun, the 883 Marlin. I've had great results with the Hornady VMax 30 grain, about 2,300 fps. I suppose you could figure out your 200 yard adjustments ahead of time and be ready for the comp. Good luck!
